Features SSL 128bit Shared SSL Server
128bit Shared SSL Server
SSL, or secure socket layer, is a security feature that allows all communication between a browser and server to be encrypted.
A secure site is indicated by the fact that the beginning of the URL you are viewing changes from http:// to https://.
You will know a page is encrypted when the "lock" appears at the bottom of your browser window.
Sites that need to transfer sensitive information such as passwords and credit card information from the browser to the server need to have SSL enabled. Usually you need a dedicated IP in order to enable SSL with your account, however if you have a EZOS M, L, XL, or XXL package you do not need a dedicated IP. Instead for content you'd like to have protected with SSL simply access it with this url: https://servername.ezoshosting.com.com/~username where servername is the name of the server your site is hosted on and username is your account username. Please contact our support to have this feature activated for you.
